2/14/10 - Change your Win7 Startup/Shutdown screen

Here's a slick little trick I picked up the other day- how to change your Win7 boot/shutdown screen. Easy and works great.

If you're interested in trying it out, you can use this shot of Trent Reznor & Peter Murphy I got in Chicago, pre-formatted and ready to go. Or you can use that for any kind of widescreen/hd background you like, actually...
Picked up an ASUS 1201N netbook recently since my old laptop died... couldn't be happier with it. If you're in the market, that one gets my seal of approval.

2/5/10 - Quote of the Day

"Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter."
-Oscar Wilde

Wilde is one of my favorite writers, and I can say that in my experience the quote also applies to photography portraiture. The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of the most insightful stories about inspiration and its ugly side that has ever been put to paper.

2/4/10 - Little Bighorn

Went and visited Little Bighorn a while ago when I was roaming the west one summer. I was told that it wasn't worth the trip but I think it was a very memorable, and would recommend it to anybody with interest in historical sites. The photo is of the cavalry monument, but there are also monuments for the Souix and other fighters.
